A Guide to European Regulatory Standards
Requirements for PPE Regulation EU 2016/425
Personal protective equipment (PPE) must meet the requirements set out in PPE Regulation EU 2016/425. Only items that meet these requirements are eligible for the CE marking that allows them to be sold on the European market.
Specific Protection Classes
The European Union has defined standards for differing protection classes, relating to types of chemical pro - tection (which will have a risk level requiring Category III classification). Product classes are confirmed by certificate, and the kind of exposure they are able to protect against (dust, liquid, gas) will be noted. Please refer to Silkroad’s technical data sheets for information on the individual tests we perform above and beyond those outlined for these protection class certifications, which only demand minimum protection requirements for certification.
